Dear Mr. Brown,

I am in receipt of the painting and it is already proudly displayed on the wall of our home theatre.   First, I am so impressed that my husband thought to have this done and I’m thrilled with your work.  It so captures Gratey’s personality.  He hates cameras and it’s very difficult to get him to sit still – he usually runs away or better yet lunges at the camera – he doesn’t like the sound and really hates if the flash goes off.  So when you have him sit and you are trying to get him to poise he will screw his nose up and slightly squint his eyes.  I’m sure my husband snapped the shot just in the nick of time – a moment later Gratey would have been either gone or trying to leave teeth marks on the camera!!!  The casual observer of the portrait would never know that of course but every time I look it I see that and have to be amused.  This dog is like a child to me.  With my husband traveling so much, coupled with living in the “country”, not only does Gratey provide me with a sense of security (his bark can make your blood curdle) but he is my constant companion.  This is the best birthday present ever.  Thank you for making my day so special – I will treasure this work for the rest of my life.

The painting of Maxx arrived at work just now.  I LOVE IT!!!  You did a marvelous job of capturing his expression, and all the small details from the photo; the ridge of fur on his chest, the crooked angle of his body.   All of it!!  And, I love the color palette. . .I absolutely dig it!!

Wow! Don, you did such an incredible job on Clyde's portrait. It sounds weird, but it looks more like Clyde than the photo does. I was so nervous when I received the box - just because I didn't know what to expect. I was so impressed. I can't believe you can painted him that well never having seen him in person.

I am also horrible at saving surprises, so I gave the portrait to Brett this evening. He was speechless and it made him cry. As it turns out, my daughter had told him what I was doing, but he had no idea how incredible the portrait would turn out. He said you really got Clyde's eyes perfectly.

Thank you for a really beautiful portrait. My family will treasure it always.
